Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about pricing, scheduling, and how a project actually runs — before you request a quote.
Services & Suitability
What painting services do you offer?
Interior painting, exterior painting, cabinet painting, and commercial painting — four categories covering everything from a single accent wall to a full commercial repaint. See the full service directory for specifics.
Do you work on older homes with plaster walls or lead paint?
Yes. Older homes need different prep — plaster patching, or RRP-certified lead-safe practices for homes built before 1978 — and we scope that explicitly rather than treating every home the same.
Can you handle both interior and exterior on the same project?
Yes, that's the point of running one crew — no need to coordinate separate contractors for inside and out.
Do you paint commercial and multi-unit properties, not just single-family homes?
Yes, offices, retail spaces, and multi-unit residential properties are all within scope, including after-hours scheduling.
Estimates & Pricing
Is the estimate really free?
Yes, every estimate is done in person and given to you in writing before any work starts — never a verbal number over the phone.
Why do estimates vary so much between contractors?
Almost always prep and materials — how much scraping, sanding, and priming is included, and which paint line is specified — not profit margin.
Do you require full payment upfront?
No. A deposit plus a final payment on completion is standard. Full payment upfront removes your leverage if the work doesn't match the estimate.
Scheduling & Project Communication
How far in advance should I book?
Interior work can often start within a couple of weeks. Exterior work books out further in peak season, so earlier is better if timing matters.
Who do I talk to once the project starts?
You get a direct line to your matched painter and a coordinator on our team — no call center, no automated queue.
Do you clean up daily or only at the end of a multi-day job?
Daily. Floors covered, furniture moved, and debris cleared before we leave every day of the project, not just the last one.
Guarantee & Support
What does your warranty actually cover?
If the finish fails from application error within the warranty period (2-3 years depending on the service), we come back and fix it at no charge. It doesn't cover damage unrelated to our workmanship.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Every painter in our network is licensed and carries liability and workers' comp coverage, verified before they're matched with a homeowner.
What happens if I'm not satisfied with the finished work?
We walk every job with you before calling it done and address anything that doesn't match the estimate before we leave.
